The Location

Set on an expansivebeachfront site 8km from the town centre and 600km from Muscat, the hoteloffers comprehensive business facilities with interpretation of Omaniarchitecture.

This hotel features 213 deluxe rooms and suites overlooking thescenic coastline, fully equipped fitness centre with kids and adult's pools,choice for conference and meetings, also features two ballrooms etc.

We are currently lookingto recruit an Executive Chef who will be responsible for thedevelopment and smooth operation of the kitchen with emphasis on quality,presentation as well as leading the culinary team.

Your KeyResponsibilities will be :

  • Lead the Culinary team.
  • Manages all functions of the Food Production operations to achieve the optimum departmental profit
  • Achieve the optimum quality level of food production and sanitation
  • Oversees special events and special food promotions
  • Makes recipes and maintains up-dated and accurate costing of all dishes prepared and sold in the Food and Beverage operation
  • Develops new dishes and products
  • Takes steps to ensure that outstanding culinary technical skills are maintained
  • Maintains comprehensive product knowledge including ingredients, equipment, suppliers, markets and current trends and make appropriate adjustments to kitchen operations accordingly
  • Controls and analyzes the level of the following :
  • Issuing of food
  • Quality and presentation of food products
  • Condition and cleanliness of facilities and equipment
  • Marketing
  • Develops with the Food and Beverage Manager popular menus offering guests value for money in accordance with IHG guidelines
  • Sets Food Production goals and develops strategies, procedures and policies
  • Sets standards of all food and equipment purchases in accordance with IHG guidelines
  • Monitors local competitors and compare their operation with the hotel Food and Beverage operation
  • Qualifications

    Ideally, you haveextensive experience in a 4 or 5-Star Hotel, preferably within the Middle East.Therefore, fluency in English is a must.

    You will bring with youstrong experience in European & Asian cuisine. You are knowledgeable aboutthe HACCP procedures and regulations.

    Team leader, you havethe ability to work with colleagues from different cultures.

    You have experience inrecruitment and know how to manage employee relations challenges.

    You are flexible withworking hours.
