This is a 4 month contract Job with good salary and benefits.
The person needs to have experience in allaspects of FA accounting, preferably in Oracle ERP, including but not limitedto the following specific activities :
FAR reconciliations andupdating in the system (including additions, disposals, changes in locationetc. of assets)
CWIP transfer to capitalizedassets in the FA module
Movement and capitalization ofTechnical inventory items upon issue to sites and locations
Ascertaining the point andconditions for capitalization of assets completion certificate, acceptanceetc.
Coordination with Accounts Payable(AP) section for running the Mass Additions interface.
Coordination with Technical andEngineering personnel to receive and process information regarding the assetsin place, assets in progress and other real-
time details to reflect in theaccounting routine.
Ascertaining the accruals to bemade based on available information (such as completion percentage, in-usepercentage etc.
received in coordination with Technical and Engineeringpersonnel
Computation of depreciation formanual / provisional capitalization of asset.
Tracking the flow of Technicalinventory items receipts, issues, transfers, disposals etc. and theirappropriate accounting through to CWIP and subsequent capitalization
Coordination with TechnicalWarehouse team to identify reconciliations differences, mismatches etc. basedon accounting records including participation in physical counts.
Independently working with andproviding requirements requested by External and Internal auditors and otherstakeholders including for management reporting purposes
Analyzing detailed informationlinking FA invoices to purchase orders (PO’s) to ascertain the status of PO’s againstinvoices received and the actions to be taken (close, hold or accrue)
Accounting for adjustments forretention monies and advance payments from / to vendors
PPE note disclosures infinancial statements
Any other disclosures anddetails required from external bodies such as Regulatory bodies etc.
Ability to independently handleand lead projects related to Fixed Assets Register (FAR), Technical Inventoriesand IFRS compliance (IFRS 16 for example)
Part qualified (working towardsa professional accounting qualification)
3 5 years’ accountingexperience in a large organization with multi-location fixed assets structure
Specific experience in FixedAssets accounting
Detail oriented, committed andorganized approach to work and documentation
Proficient Excel skills ability to analyze and present large volumes of data in suitable formats
Good communication andinter-personal skills to liaise with internal and external persons
