Core Responsibilities :
You will be responsible of procurement and contract management of vendors for commercial and / or Technology departments, co-
ordinating relevant information from internal departments, i.e. technical specifications, test and acceptance criteria, etc, reviewing tender documentation for completeness and issue to vendors, tracking tender documents, i.
e. when they are returned ensure that copies are issued to the relevant departments and track their progress through those departments, reviewing and evaluating the commercial aspect of the tender responses, arranging interdepartmental review of vendors, negotiating with the tenderers, recommendation and presentation of reviews to senior management, production and negotiation of contracts, managing the commercial aspects of the service as defined in the contract, advises the project management team on remedies within the contract if poor performance is encountered, involvement in assessment, review and negotiation of any additional costs requested by the vendors, reviewing of any changes in internal / external procedures / processes to ensure compliance with the agreed contract, risk management if the above are not in accordance with the contract, providing problem management for the commercial element of the contract, providing change management for the commercial element of the contract, conducting regular review meetings with the vendors, developing, managing and maintaining commercial relationships with the vendor to ensure that they meet the company’s objectives w.
r.t. time, quality and cost, If required escalates issues regarding the contracts including all relevant information, managing the production of regular communications, applying financial control in line with management objectives, ensuring that initial placement of contracts is under budget Involved in financial monitoring of contracts and early identification of cost increases, responsible for line management of team members, setting and monitoring objectives in accordance with departmental objectives, establishing internal stakeholder relationships and coordinate planning, developing strategic plan including internal training materials to support category management, developing the capabilities of the department team through direction, coaching, clear objectives and performance standards, providing feedback and managing individuals, Assisting staff to resolve complex or out of policy operation problems, supporting to other team members, as appropriate, to cover holidays / sickness and undertaking similar or related duties as directed by the Head of Procurement.
The Person :
You should have a minimum of 10 years’ experience with a minimum of 2 years’ in a management position 2 years’ experience of managing contracts, 2 years’ experience of the tendering process, planning and managing procurement activities, taking responsibility for decisions, seeking advice where appropriate, writing and negotiating contracts with vendors, experience of supply chain management, analysis and problem solving with bachelor degree, adegree in purchasing is a plus.
