  • Leading Islamic bank in Oman is enhancing its suit of services for wholesale banking customers, with Transaction Banking features to provide the best in class digital and B2B services.
  • Head of Transaction banking will report to GM Wholesale banking and will be responsible to define and own business requirements and functionalities of Transaction Banking, so that Bank can select or arrange to develop a suitable platform.
  • The role will also be responsible to implement strategy and migration plans for Transaction banking, in line with the strategy of the bank.
  • Take measurable targets in terms of client conversion, business volume, sale of business across WSB business segments and geographies.
  • Define and own the business requirements and functionalities of Transaction Banking.
  • Act as a project manager responsible for RFP, evaluation, identification and implementation of a suitable and cost effective TB system for the Bank as per the vendor selection process.
  • Handle the role of business owner of the system and also act as surrogate business user defining quality of the platform, features and services.
  • Plan, lead, and organize the business activities of Transaction Banking to identify target customers and implement the TB services to maximize profits by generating fee income, optimising business volume and minimizing operational losses.
  • Develop good understanding of market trends, competitor offerings, key drivers of the business and industry best practices.
  • Solid understanding of digital and self-service platforms with suitable User Experience ( UX) standards.
  • Clear understanding of the regulatory compliances related to electronic banking in Oman.
  • Customer Acquisition

  • Conduct bank level data analysis and discussion with RMs to identify the prospective customers for Transaction banking.
  • Joint call to customer with RM to explore the business opportunities and scope for Transaction banking.
  • Conduct business presentation, requirement mapping to follow with system demo by implementation team.
  • Approve the Offer letter to customer where transaction banking limits have been sanctioned
  • Approve implementation activity to enrol customer as per customer agreement and necessary docs.
  • Arrange to release periodic MIS to all business units for leads Vs status of conversion.
  • Implementation and Training

  • Approve the implementation plan for customer.
  • Overview the training and implementation by implementation and support team.
  • Customer Support

  • Approve to Initiate enhancement of features based on new customer requirements.
  • Review recurring customer issues and root cause analysis.
  • Review outstanding customer issues periodically.
  • Surrogate Business User

  • Approve initiation of new functionalities / enhancements for transaction banking.
  • Approve all change managements as a gate keeper.
  • Arrange to conduct user acceptance tests before all deployments.
  • Arrange to Validate root cause analysis by vendor / application owner.
  • Skills and Qualifications :

  • Minimum of University Graduate, Post-Graduation preferable.
  • Preferable Certifications in IT domain, Certifications in Management.
  • Over all experience of 10 years in corporate banking.
  • 3 years’ experience in Transaction banking.
  • Over all experience in Whole sale banking.
  • Sound experience in relationship skills, Local regulatory compliances for electronic banking, Profit centre.
